In response to the critical medication shortage in Colombia, the Administrative Tribunal of Cundinamarca has taken decisive action by issuing an urgent preliminary injunction. This mandate requires the Ministry of Health and the National Institute of Food and Drug Surveillance (Invima) to implement a comprehensive plan addressing various aspects of the crisis.

The key directives include ensuring the availability of medicines prioritized by the Ministry, expediting the resolution of nearly 28,000 pending medication registrations, and devising strategies to streamline access to raw materials essential for medication manufacturing. The entities involved have a specific timeframe of 10 business days, starting from 30 October, to deliver this urgently needed response plan.
