Angela is a Bacteriologist, Master in Microbiology and Ph.D. in Biological Sciences. She has 20 years of experience, and during her professional performance, she has worked in research, teaching, public health surveillance, and assistance service. Thanks to her academic practice, she has participated in the planning and development of various research projects, and additionally, she is the author of several research articles. Her main research areas are related to infectious diseases and molecular microbiology.

Angela has worked as a teacher and researcher at various universities, as a researcher and research advisor for the National Institute of Health of Colombia, and as a coordinator of molecular diagnostic laboratories for infectious diseases. In addition, she has participated as a thesis evaluation jury at the undergraduate and graduate levels in various universities in the country and as a peer reviewer of articles and research projects. In 2022 Angela joined OlarteMoure & Asociados, working as a Technical Associate of the Patent Department in patent searches, drafting, and processing for Colombia and the Andean Region. Angela is also currently a professor at the University of La Sabana Faculty of Medicine.
