Telecom company faces heavy fine

This breach of consent protocols prompted the regulatory body, the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce, to take decisive action.

In addition to the financial penalty, the company has been ordered by the regulatory authority to adhere to the following mandates:

  • ACease all processing of personal data associated with the marketing campaign in question.
  • ACompletely delete all databases linked to the campaign.
  • A Abstain from engaging in any operations involving personal information without the explicit consent of the data subjects.

These measures aim to hold the company accountable for its disregard of consent requirements and ensure that individuals’ privacy rights are respected moving forward.
