CHILE | Intellectual Property, Patents | Renewal of the agreement signed between Chile and China in patent issues

.

Officials of the Intellectual Property Office of China (SIPO) and the National Institute of Industrial Property of Chile (INAPI) renewed the agreement between both offices (in force since February 2012) regarding cooperation in patent examination.

The purpose of the agreement is the exchange of information and knowledge between the two offices.  The current agreement does not include a Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH).

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, PANAMA | Patents | The Patent Offices of Dominican Republic and Panama will accept digital filing and prosecution of PCT applications

.

Starting 1 November 2016, the Patent Offices of Dominican Republic and Panama (ONAPI and DIGERPI respectively) will accept filing and prosecution of PCT applications digitally.

Acceptance of applications will be in their capacities as receiving Offices (RO/DO and RO/PA) through WIPO’s ePCT website.

ARGENTINA | Regulatory | Regulatory Authority of Argentina updates the list of reference products for bioequivalence

On 12 October 2016 -and by means of Regulation 11247/2016– the Argentine Regulatory Authority (ANMAT in Spanish) updated the list of reference products for pharmaceuticals containing active pharmaceutical ingredients subjected to analysis of bioequivalence

Active ingredients subject to bioequivalence analysis can be consulted in the Regulation.

The new Regulation complements bioequivalence regulations in force in Argentina, and repeals Annex II of Regulation 4788/2012.

ECUADOR | Intellectual Property, Regulatory, Patents | Procedure for new Seeds Law in Ecuador is still ongoing

.

Currently, the Ecuadorian Congress carries out the pre-legislative consultation of the Seeds Bill.

The pre-legislative consultation is given in compliance with the legal requirement that indigenous communities, farmers and the community in general can manifest about changes that were adopted in the new law.

Although there is no a deadline to complete pre-legislative consultation stage, it must finish soon.  This, because its approval by the legislature is expected in the first quarter of 2017.
