Colombia’s government is taking proactive steps to bolster the sustainability of its territories through the implementation of cutting-edge projects and programs focused on research, technological development, and innovation (R+D+i). In pursuit of this goal, the government has recently announced a series of exciting calls for proposals, aimed at fostering innovation and driving progress in various sectors.

Programa Orquídeas - Agentes para la Paz 2023

A total of 120 outstanding individuals, comprising 60 women PhDs and 60 young women researchers from diverse regions, are set to receive vital support for their monthly sustenance and research projects. These projects are specifically geared towards addressing critical issues in fields such as health, environment, technology, education, culture, and citizen participation.

Investigación Fundamental

Roughly USD 4.5 million in funding is now available to support 22 innovative basic knowledge research proposals across a wide range of fields including agriculture, medicine, social sciences, humanities, arts, engineering, and technology. This funding opportunity is aimed at promoting sustainable social and economic development in the country, providing a platform for cutting-edge research that can drive positive change.

Ecosistemas en Transición Energética 2023

The call provides USD 7.6 million to implement R+D+I programs that support the energy transition process by developing, adopting, and adapting technologies. Projects require a strategic alliance between institutions for submission.

Ecosystems in Bioeconomy and Territory

Will allow the validation of products and processes with high added market value, based on the efficient management of biomass and the sustainable use of biodiversity and ecosystem services thereof.
