Goodbye government trademarks

goodbye government trademarls
With the implementation of Law 2345 of 2023, the creation of government trademarks is prohibited, under which millions were invested by the State to design signs that were inherent to a specific administration through which a person, party, government plan, or citizen movement was publicized and were periodically modified with the change of administration. The purpose of this law is to eliminate government brands and the investment made in them.

Thus, the law imposes the obligation on State Entities to adopt a Visual Identity Manual, which must contain the essential elements of the official image of each Entity and not be related to the government in office. For example, national entities must use the Seal of Arms of Colombia, and territorial entities must use the corresponding Seal or flag, accompanied by the name of the entity.

This law does not apply to city or territorial marks.
