The Colombian National Authority on Data Protection (SIC) issued a preventive measureby means of which it ordered Facebook to: i) adopt new measures and improve existing ones to guarantee personal data security of the web page users; ii) specifically avoid unauthorized or fraudulent behavior regarding access, use, browsing, altering or loss of personal data.
The company must comply within a term of 4 months. This type of measure has also been adopted by other countries like Ireland, the United States of America, Great Britain, France, the Netherlands, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
