Manuela is a pharmaceutical chemist from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia. She currently works as an Associate for the Patent Area at OlarteMoure & Asociados. Manuela has worked as a researcher on the chemical and pharmaceutical uses of the cannabis plant at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and the Universidade Federal da Integraçao Latino-Americana as well as being a volunteer for the Échele Cabeza project where she worked as an analytical chemist and researcher.
