Juan studied Law at the University of Los Andes in Colombia and also pursued studies in Business Administration and Chinese language and culture at Nankai University in China. He graduated as a Lawyer with options in organizational management and Chinese culture. Since then, he has worked for over eight years in promoting and structuring various foreign investment projects, including greenfield, brownfield, and venture capital projects, in both pharmaceutical and technological sectors in Colombia.

In 2019, Juan joined a multidisciplinary team to co-found and launch Human Leap, a startup focused on providing legal and blockchain traceability services, which now operates in the United States.In 2020, Juan provided legal and strategic advice for an R&D center focused on neurological disorders in Colombia, particularly in the co-development of a drug with a New York-based neurological laboratory to reduce refractory epilepsy seizures using repurposed molecules.

In 2021, he joined OlarteMoure, since 2023, he has led the management of investment affairs and OMGrow, a program to structure and invest in early-stage and venture capital in startups based on scientific research (DeepTech ventures).

He is passionate about cultivating connections and creating business opportunities at the intersection of technology, science, and law. Juan especially focuses on R&D-based businesses in the health sector and the use of biotechnology combined with advanced computing to solve complex human problems.
