The National Civil Registry of Colombia will implement a data governance model committed to the protection of personal data and institutional information of citizens. Additionally, this model establishes specific rules for the exchange of information between public and private entities. It is expected that this system will help prevent crimes such as identity theft and interception of computer data.

In this way, the importance of information safeguarding measures, specific policies for the processing and storing of data, as well as the entity’s certification in information security are highlighted. In addition, the Registrar’s Office will continue to implement technologies such as digital signatures and biometrics to provide citizens with secure and efficient services and procedures.
