On 14 May 2019, Panamanian authorities opened a case to evaluate a possible leak of personal data of 3.4 million Panamanians.

The National Authority for Government Innovation (AIG) announced through the National Computer Security Incident Response Center (Csirt) that it is currently reviewing information related to the alleged leak.

Once the investigation finishes, Csirt “will inform citizens the results obtained”.

Furthermore, Social Security (CSS) reported that although “information disclosed on social networks about a massive digital leak of more than 3 million Panamanians was confirmed, said information is not related to medical records nor retirement fund data”.
