The National Directorate of Taxes and Customs (DIAN), led by Luis Carlos Reyes, conducted a joint operation with the Bogotá Metropolitan Police to verify the legality of goods stored at a specific location. As a result, foreign goods with an estimated value of $1,234 million were seized.
This reflects an 11.6% increase in seizures compared to the previous year, equivalent to $337,174 million compared to the previously recorded $302,199 million. Additionally, DIAN emphasizes that these types of operations aim to protect legal trade in Colombia and that smuggling not only impacts tax revenues but also harms the national economy and businesses.
