The EPO has published the “Talking about a new revolution: blockchain” report as a follow-up to the “Patenting Blockchain” conference held in The Hague last year, in order to discuss the impact of this technology on the patent system.
The report contains executive summaries of the presentations and speaker interventions, providing a unique opportunity to analyse patent searches and examinations carried out by the EPO and different examiners worldwide in blockchain patents.
Likewise, the report addresses, among other topics, the different types of blockchain and the technical jargon for its analysis, litigation and infringement scenarios, as well as the future challenges that arise as a result of the innovation inherent to this technology.
