The first legislative period of the year concluded with the approval, during extraordinary sessions, of a bill proposed by the National Government to modify the General Budget of the Nation. The approved modification included an additional 16.9 trillion pesos, with 100 million pesos specifically designated for the cultural sector. The Ministry of Culture stated that, alongside the broader goal of reducing inflation, the funding aims to expand the reach of the “Sounds for the Construction of Peace” program, providing children and young people with access to artistic and cultural training.
Furthermore, investments were also allocated to various sectors, including education, housing, and transportation.
