Carlos received his J.D. degree with an emphasis in Industrial Property Law, Emerging Technologies Law, and IP Contracts, from Universidad Externado de Colombia (2017). During his law school years, he was awarded for two years with the Annual Merit Scholarship, he was exempted from compulsory graduation exams due to outstanding academic achievements, and his bachelor thesis, related to civil liability for patent infringement in Colombia, was published in book form by the university press.

Carlos served as Roman Law Academic Assistant at Universidad Externado de Colombia, he worked for the Litigation and Copyright Department of Wolf Mendez Abogados, and he was part of the Litigation, Arbitration and Insolvency Team of Brigard Urrutia Abogados.

He currently works as an Associate Attorney for the Patent Litigation practice area at OlarteMoure, representing national and foreign clients in a wide variety of litigation matters and IP disputes. The above, including annulment actions and infringement proceedings conducted before the local courts, under the national procedural rules.
