On 20 October 2023, COLJUEGOS issued Resolution No. 20231000019054 “By which the activities of advertising, sponsorship, promotion or any other form of commercial communication of games of chance in the new modality of games operated by the internet are regulated”. This resolution established, among others, the following guidelines directed to authorized operators of games of chance in the modality of games operated by the Internet:
i) the advertising of the authorized operators and games offered must be identifiable through the brand of each one of them.
ii) advertising investment ceilings were established for the operators.
iii) operators must submit to COLJUEGOS each year an advertising investment plan that cannot exceed the defined ceilings.
iv) advertising of games or practices not authorized by COLJUEGOS is prohibited.
v) the content of advertising by operators was limited, among other things.
This resolution becomes effective on 1 January 2024.
