The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has announced the implementation of the 2024 version of the twelfth edition of the International Classification of Goods and Services for the Purposes of the Registration of Marks, also known as the “Nice Classification,” effective January 1st, 2024. This version includes updates in the wording of products and services across various classes and the addition of some new entries.
The WIPO will implement this new version for applications submitted from January 1st, 2024, onwards. It is important to highlight that there will be no need to reclassify products and services in international registrations dated before January 1st, 2024.
