Colombia: United States has removed Colombia from the USTR’s Priority Watch List

7 May, 2019

On 25 April 2019, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) released its annual“Special 301 Report”, which contains the United States Priority Watch List in Intellectual Property.

The USTR’s Priority Watch List announces the 36 countries that either have unsafe or insufficient Intellectual Property systems or have denied IP rights to United States right holders.

Proudly, this year Colombia no longer belongs to said list due to its significant efforts in IP enforcement. Colombia also boasts new Law 1915 of 2018, which has reformed Colombian former regulation in copyright protection, among other government efforts.
