Colombia: Producers and directors in Colombia against Film Funding Bill
November 23 2018

On 8 November 2018, the members of the Colombian Association of independent film producers (ASOCINDE in Spanish) sent a letter to the lawmakers behind the Film Funding Bill expressing their concern “for the measures included in the bill, given they would not only hurt the still developing audiovisual industry, but practically suffocate it”.

The concern is that the bill would not only end the tax incentives enshrined in current laws, but would hinder one of the most important audiovisual endeavors worldwide and would discourage foreign investment and foreign companies.
