The new phase of the Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) program will come into effect on 1 April 2019.
The main features of the PPH include: i) the acceptance of applications in some fields of chemical and biotechnology engineering; ii) the variation of the limit set on the number of applications per month, will now allow one application monthly per applicant; iii) and for the last month of the program, that is March 2021, there will be no limit on the number of applications per month; and, iv) the acceptance of applications in all arts and not just the ones previously approved in the pilot program.
The aforementioned will allow applicants to obtain patents in a shorter time in Brazil, along with the mentioned features.
